Calculate your Annual Carbon Footprint and Contribute an Offset
Donate to a Greening Sacred Spaces Project and Receive a Charitable Receipt
Using this Calculator
- Begin by filling in the basic information. Different provinces generate electricity in different ways and vary in climate, so your place of residence helps determine your emissions.
- You may calculate your annual greenhouse gas emissions as an individual or as a household.
- You may calculate and offset your emissions in one category only, or for your total emissions (far right column).
- If you are unsure how to respond to a given question, use the default values provided. An average value will then be used. All values calculated in tonnes of CO2 equivalents.

About our Carbon Offsets
Greening Sacred Spaces uses offset funds to help green buildings of different faith communities through alternative energy, energy efficiency, and related eco-projects.
Unlike most offsets, ours are not a purchase per se, but rather a donation. You contribute to support greening projects and we issue a charitable receipt. This in turn helps us to reduce CO2 emissions by the equivalent of about one tonne per $20.
Faith & the Common Good receives your donation via the CanadaHelps.org website. You may designate your offset for a particular faith community or give
to the general offset fund. Charitable receipts are issued instantly online - please print the receipt immediately for future
